JioTV App Receives Exclusive Rights To Stream Winter Olympic Games 2018
The streaming application controlled by the local telecom behemoth Reliance Jio, Jio TV, has been honored the digital rights by the International Olympic Committee to stream 2018 Olympic Winter Games for India. The application will be offering complete coverage of the event in the country, thereby allowing billions to authorize live and catch-up video on their mobile handsets, on the go.
The Winter Olympic Games will take place in South Korea at PyeongChang County and will start from February 9, 2018 and will last till February 25, 2018. Reliance claims that its JioTV app will have various channels to stream live content 24 x 7. Apart from the live streaming, the application will also comprise highlight offers. Consumers can also view the repeat telecast in the application.
Reliance Jio is attempting to its fullest so as to outshine its rivalry such as Idea, Airtel, and Vodafone. By getting hold of the rights of content streaming for its JioTV app, the telecom company is also making efforts in the market of content streaming, which for now is ruled by Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hotstar to name a few.
Currently, Amazon Prime appears to be tearing the charts apart. “Using the advantage of the Prime membership, users of Amazon Prime Video service have already managed to exceed Netflix users in India, Germany, and Japan,” claimed report of IHM Market released last month. On the other hand, on the worldwide level, Prime is yet to exceed Netflix.
Not only Reliance Jio but other huge worldwide tech companies are also trying their best to market their own services by giving more information or streaming content on the forthcoming Winter Olympics. Some have even rolled out a devoted themed handset. Google lately unveiled how users can employ its facilities to remain updated with what is taking place at the Winter Olympics.
